Alliance of Indiana Rural Water offers training classes for water and wastewater operators, as well as classes for clerk treasurers, utility boards & councils and utility managers.  Unless otherwise specified all classes have been approved or are pending approval for water or wastewater contact hours by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM).  IDEM approved classes meet the Indiana State Board of Engineers criteria for professional development hours (PDHs).

Emergency Response Planning: Are You Cybersecure?

This course will focus on updating and revising existing emergency response plans or developing emergency response plans if a utility doesn't already have one. Each aspect of an emergency response plan will be discussed as well as contingency plans for wellhead protection. There will be a special emphasis on Cybersecurity including discussions on SCADA systems as well as billing systems (identity theft) issues, the ‘dark web’ and the ease with which hackers can get into any internet based operation, individual password protection, how to handle disgruntled or dismissed employees and how to check security assets.
