Obituary: Chief Cecil A. Little
November 18, 1928 - June 17, 2016

Cecil A. Little, 87 of Anacortes, Washington passed away on June 17, 2016, surrounded by family and his lodge brothers.

Cecil was born November 18, 1928, in Wink, Texas. He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Clara Jean Richardson on September 13, 1946, and spent the next 69 years raising a family. Cecil loved traveling, writing poetry, singing and playing the guitar, woodworking and making glass garden flowers. 

He served various civic communities as Fire Chief preventing and educating them about fire safety and hazards. In his career, he was the Fire Captain of the City of Mercer Island-1965, Battalion Chief, City of Mercer Island-1970, Fire Chief , City of Mercer Island-1972, Fire Chief, Naval Submarine Base, Bangor, WA-1976, Fire Chief, City of Anacortes-1978. Cecil was also active in Kiwanis, Eagles, the AnaSam Chapter of Good Sam, Eastern Star, and the Masonic Lodge.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Tressa, his brothers Hugh Dolph and Jackie Clark. He is survived by his wife Jean; sons, Larry(Olga), Cecil Jr, ( Jacquie), Roger (Liz); daughters Lee Ona (Cliff), Carol Roberts 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Masonic Center, 1019 8th Street in Anacortes, Washington.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Madrona #89 Scholarship Fund, C/O Masonic Center 1019 8th Street, Anacortes, Wa. 98221 or your personal choice of charities on behalf of Cecil A. Little.
