‘Moments away from spreading’: Crews battle Longview garage fire

Crews battled a large fire early Monday morning in Longview, authorities said. According to Longview Fire, crews rushed to a home at 2715 Fir St. just after 2:00 a.m. where a detached garage was fully ablaze, with the fire showing the possibility of spreading. Officials said that units were on the scene within five minutes of the original 911 call and they quickly jumped into action, fighting back the flames.

VIDEO: Dozens without a home after hot inferno burns at Northeast DC apartment building

Fire Department Instructors Conference returns to Indianapolis

More than 35,000 firefighters from across the world will meet in Indianapolis this week for an almost century-old international conference. The 97th annual Fire Department Instructors Conference International has returned to Indianapolis for the 29th year in a row, and will feature more than 250 speakers and classes.

Historic Outlet building in Rhode Island was destroyed in spectacular 1986 fire
