EMS Providers: Maine's System on Brink of Collapse

Five minutes ago, Kassie Scott was driving the ambulance down Main Street with lights on and siren blaring, but now she and paramedic Steve Smith are parked in front of the response address, sitting in silence, waiting for the police to arrive. Indiana fire official douses city's claims of cost savings in controversial firefighter shift changes

App alerts California firefighters to pedestrian hit right in front of fire station

One person was hit and injured by a vehicle in Arroyo Grande on Friday morning — and the incident happened right in front of a Five Cities Fire Authority station. Five Cities Fire Authority Chief Steve Lieberman told The Tribune a woman was crossing the street where there was no marked crosswalk in Arroyo Grande outside of the Village when she appears to have been hit by a car.

Longview Fire Department helps teen with cancer check off bucket list item

A recent high school graduate in Longview is facing a terrible diagnosis, but she’s using the time she has left to knock out a bucket list. She crossed off one item Saturday night at the Longview Holiday Parade. The Longview Fire Department learned about Kylee Jacobson’s cancer diagnosis while reading the newspaper Saturday morning.

Firefighters battle blaze at home south of Toppenish

Firefighters battled a blaze Saturday night at a home south of Toppenish. Yakima County Fire District 5 officials say firefighters arrived before 8:30 p.m. to find one home fully involved and another home starting to be involved near U.S. Highway 97, Marion Drain Road and Spurck Road. Fire officials say no one was at home at the time of the fire and that the case has been turned over to Yakama Nation Police Department for investigation.
