Instructions to Buyers

1. Offers will be received by Jack Cates, Fire Chief, Spokane County Fire District 9, for the purchase of surplus apparatus. Chief Cates can be reached at jcates@scfd9.org or 509.466.4602 x9901. 

2. The surplus apparatus is detailed on the attached list and may be inspected by prospective buyers. Appointments for inspection are to be made with Support Services by calling 509-483-3108 between 8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday. 

3. Acceptance of a written offer shall constitute a confirmed and completed sale of the subject apparatus. The buyer shall be immediately vested with ownership of the apparatus upon receipt of payment, at which point Fire District 9 shall have no further interest in or liability for it. 

4. Buyers will be invoiced for the full amount due for the surplus apparatus. Full payment to Spokane County Fire District 9 shall be due and payable at the time of invoice, and must be received by the District within thirty (30) days of invoice date unless other terms for payment have been approved by the Fire Chief. 

5. The apparatus will be available to the buyer at the District’s Support Services facility, at a time to be arranged between the purchaser and the District’s Support Services staff. Proof of purchase (Fire District 9 receipt) must be shown prior to taking delivery of apparatus. 

6. All surplus apparatus are sold “as is, where is” without a warranty of any kind, and without any statement or implication of condition, fitness for purpose or service life. 

7. Buyer of any surplus apparatus assumes full liability for its condition and use and by making an offer, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Spokane County Fire District 9 from any liabilities or costs whatsoever arising out of the purchase or use of any surplus apparatus. 

8. The submittal of a written offer shall constitute acceptance of these Instructions to Buyers.
