FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

South Metro Fire Rescue Opens Recruiting for Paramedic/ Firefighters

Centennial, Colo.—(Sept. 20, 2016)—South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) today announced that they have opened up the recruiting process for entry-level and experienced paramedic/firefighter positions.  Applicants must register for intent to test no later than Nov. 18, 2016, and there will be a number of candidates that will be invited to submit a formal application in December.

“This is such a great opportunity to join a growing organization that has a very strong foundation, rich history and incredible opportunities,” said Bob Baker, Fire Chief for South Metro.  “We serve approximately 200,000 permanent residents in our district, as well as many businesses, parks, schools and a regional airport; and highly-value our strong tradition of serving the community. This is a prime opportunity to join an organization to really help make a difference.”

The agency is also an all-hazards agency, which means that they have specialized teams for Technical Rescues, Water Rescues, Bike Medics and Tactical EMS. For those newly-hired, individuals are required to go through a 16-week academy to ensure in-depth proper training as South Metro places continued emphasis on education, training and professional development.

There will also be a number of events throughout the United States that South Metro will be attending during this recruiting process, allowing for individuals to meet and speak with current paramedic/firefighters that are already with South Metro.   The event locations and dates include:

·         Sept. 22-24, 2016: Oregon EMS Conference in Bend, Ore.
