IN REMEMBERANCE: DAN JOHNSON - 07/30/1946 - 11/8/2023 (77) Past president Dan Johnson had been part of the pool industry since 1974. He was an active member of the FSPA for many years and had a great impact on the association and the industry. Dan proudly served in the Air Force for 4 years. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a self-employed individual with Swim Inc. Outside of work, Dan enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his family. Dan spent multiple years on the local Chapter Board as well as the state Board. He was on the state Board in 1998 and moved into committee chair positions in 2000 with PIPAC and in 2001 in Membership and the Trade Show Committee. He served on the Executive Committee 2002 - 2004 including President in 2003. He spent many years involved in the writing of national standards. He also taught many years at the FSPA trade show and at local Chapters. He was always willing to volunteer and cared about the well being of the pool industry. In 2004 Dan was recognized as Person of the Year and in 2009 was inducted into the FSPA Hall of Fame for his dedication and years of service. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and their daughters Shannon, Amy, and Britany, and 12 grand children and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to SRQ Vets.
