First Ever Concrete Promotion Training for the Concrete Professional Event Receives Positive Feedback
In response to a need identified by our concrete producer members, PACA, in conjunction with staff members from the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), recently conducted “Concrete Promotion Training for the Concrete Professional” at two venues in the Commonwealth.
The day-long program focused on a variety of aspects of concrete promotion including the difference between sales and promotion, identifying who to promote to, and means of tracking and measuring a company’s promotion efforts. Also included in the discussion, was a review of the numerous tools that are available to industry for facilitating promotion.
A total of 36 attendees, representing 13 companies (Centre Concrete, Stone & Co., DuBrook Inc., Essroc RMC, J.J. Kennedy, Pennsy Supply, BASF, Whibco, Masters Concrete, Union Quarries, Lehigh/Essroc Cement, NESL, Rohrer’s Concrete) supported the program. The audience was a mix of the experienced and inexperienced and everyone took something away from the sessions.
PACA staff will be following up with the attendees in the hopes that the program will stimulate industry to apply some of the ideas that were discussed. In addition, staff will continue meeting with our members to determine how to best devise and implement a promotion plan that will work for them. Please do not hesitate to contact Ken Crank to discuss how you can partner with PACA to assist in your concrete promotion efforts.
PACA wishes to thank those companies that sent personnel to this training. When it comes to promoting….”Concrete, It Just Makes Cents!"
