The driver is charged with red light, two counts of vehicular homicide, two counts of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, operating a vehicle on a temporary permit without a licensed driver and operating vehicle with more than one juvenile passenger. Her name was not released because she is a juvenile.

According to police, Carder-Gallon arranged to have the vehicle towed to a scrap yard and received $300 for it. The owner of the fire truck, Charles Fischer, called police when he realized the truck had been taken. He said a friend later spotted it online for sale.

The station, similar to Pleasant Prairie’s new station at 3801 Springbrook Road, would also allow emergency crews to respond more quickly to areas of the city with high demand. By freeing up resources, the move also would allow each station in the city to have its own ambulance.

The new fire station will have multiple dormitories for the crew, a citywide meeting room for the all of the fire department’s stations, a kitchen and weight rooms.
