During #GivingTuesday on Dec. 3, 2019, the Florida Swims
Foundation raised $2,675 to help fund swim lessons for young children in
Florida. The organization, which is the
charitable arm of the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA), has its visions
set on ensuring every child in the Sunshine state has a swimming lesson before kindergarten.

FSPA and our Florida Swims Foundation announced we’re pursuing an appropriation from the State of Florida to fund childhood swim lessons.
This is just the first step in a larger effort from the Florida Swims Foundation and FSPA. The goal with this appropriation is identify and multiply the effectiveness childhood learn to swim programs that have the potential be scaled up for statewide implementation.

its licensing workshop, an event for any FSPA member or nonmember. If you are interested in obtaining a Florida
swimming pools contractor’s license, FSPA would like to invite you to attend our

Dr. John Doherty knows first-hand how dangerous the water can be if you can’t swim. At age 11 he witnessed it firsthand, rescuing a young boy from a crowded and lively community pool during the middle of the day.
