This session will cover not only how to prevent the occurrence of blue-green algae, but also how to reduce it with chemical use, ultrasound, nutrient remediation and other new technologies. It will cover limits that have been set for nutrient removal in wastewater discharges, but we will also discuss how to remediate the nutrients that can be added to reservoirs and other water bodies from other sources. Finally it will cover, membrane filtration use to dehydrate the algae and possibly use it to produce fuels.
