Alliance of Indiana Rural Water offers training classes for water and wastewater operators, as well as classes for clerk treasurers, utility boards & councils and utility managers.  Unless otherwise specified all classes have been approved or are pending approval for water or wastewater contact hours by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM).  IDEM approved classes meet the Indiana State Board of Engineers criteria for professional development hours (PDHs).

THIS COURSE WILL BE PRESENTED IN WEBINAR FORMAT. PRE-REGISTRATION AND A VALID EMAIL IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE THE WEBINAR LINK.

This session will cover all aspects of a pretreatment program to prevent Fats, Oils and Grease from entering the wastewater collection system. Revisiting and updating Sewer Use Ordinances will be the starting point, followed by how to use the National Pretreatment Program to establish limits and other criteria for the program. Also included in the session will be discussion on use of Best Management Practices for Food Service Establishments and public education for residential customers on the effects of FOG on collection and treatment systems.
