Hunting Experiences for Members:

Through our website, Sportsman magazine, and partner organizations we communicate news, reviews, stories, and hunting opportunities to our members. Hunting and Second Amendment rights go hand in hand. By joining TSRA you are supporting an organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of gun ownership for future generations and protecting Texas traditions.

HUNTING & WILDLIFE

Hunting and respect for the great outdoors is woven into the fabric of Texas heritage of gun ownership. TSRA believes that keeping our hunting heritage strong is critical to preserving Second Amendment rights for future generations. We work with many of the great Texas hunting and conservation organizations dedicated to our hunting traditions, with a focus on two areas.

Preserve Hunting Rights:
Gun opponents and anti-hunting organizations have sought to limit hunting by creating new restrictions, fees, and limiting use of public land. In 2016, Texas voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment (Proposition 6) guaranteeing the right to hunt and fish. TSRA supported this legislation and will continue to work with our partners to fight any attempts to take away our hunting rights.

Teaching Young People:
As Texas becomes more urbanized, there are fewer opportunities for young people to experience hunting. TSRA supports efforts like the Texas Youth Hunting Program (TYHP) and others who are working to bring hunting opportunities and education to the youth of Texas. We encourage our members to engage in these efforts and help a child learn a new skill they will enjoy for a lifetime!
