Renee Amar named LMTA's new Executive Director

Association’s Executive Committee has selected Renee Amar to serve as Executive Director

The Louisiana Motor Transport Association (LMTA) is eager to announce that Renee Amar has been selected to lead the organization as executive director. The announcement concludes the diligent, three-month effort by the association’s executive search committee, formed earlier this summer.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to be working for one of the most critical industries in the state of Louisiana,” said Amar. “I can’t wait to bring my experience and passion for the business community and the LMTA to Baton Rouge and Washington DC to protect, serve and grow the membership.”

Amar most recently served as vice president for policy and government affairs for the Pelican Institute for Public Policy. She also previously operated as director of LABI’s small business and healthcare councils and deputy director of political action. In the past, Amar also served as state director for the National Federation of Independent Business, as well as worked for the Louisiana Hospital Association.

"The LMTA is excited to have Renee fill the vital role of executive director,” said LMTA President Todd Ruple. "This year has presented many challenges for our organization, and 2021 is looking to be just as interesting. Renee’s past experience proves she is a strong leader and the right person to help guide our association. I know she’ll help navigate the association through both the trials and opportunities the future presents."

Amar fills the key position after former director, Chance McNeely, announced his resignation in April of this year.
