Legislative Breakfast
The Georgia Agribusiness Council's annual Legislative Breakfast,
was held on Wednesday, February 2, 20222 at 7:30 a.m. at the Georgia
Railroad Freight Depot, which was a chance for members to "meet and
greet" with their state legislators and get an update on the issues
impacting the state in regards to agriculture and other ag-related
issues. Governor Brian Kemp, Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, House
Speaker David Ralston, and a host of other elected state leaders have all
been past speakers. This event usually takes place at the beginning of the year
when the Georgia General Assembly is in session.
Keep your eye out for 2023 Information.
Annual Meeting
The annual meeting is a more personal
gathering of members where we present the current events pertaining to ag, and
more specifically, how we are addressing those issues. This sit-down dinner is
an opportunity for members to connect with other members, become educated on
the issues, and to see how they can get more involved. With a key-note speaker
and a cocktail reception beforehand, this is an event you'd hate to miss.
This year's event was held
on February 1, 2022 at the Sports Hall of Fame! The Farmer of the Year award
was presented at this year’s event for the first time and our keynote speaker
was Tyler Harper. Keep watching for more
details on the upcoming 2023 meeting.
