ACIP
Meeting Tomorrow: Tomorrow,
December 1, 2020, from 2:00-5:00 pm EST, CDC’s Advisory
Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) will host an emergency
virtual meeting. They have released the meeting agenda and have a live
webcast link open to the public. The will be discussing
further recommendations for prioritization for the initial ~40 million doses
that will likely become available in December. If you recall, they have
already agreed that the #1 priority group is healthcare workers.
Tomorrow’s meeting of ACIP will decide who follows after healthcare workers for
the first 40 million: Will it be (1) Adults aged 65+ (>53 Million); (2)
Adults with high-risk medical conditions (>100 million); or (3) Essential
workers (87 million).

is New Portal for Volunteers for Clinical Trials and Convalescent Plasma
Donation: How about a one-stop-shop for encouraging people to
consider volunteering for prevention and treatment trials? This is the
place to go for those who either (1) have never had COVID-19 and are interested
in participating in a prevention trial, or (2) have recovered from COVID-19 and
would consider donating convalescent plasma to help others recover. Today
I signed up as a prevention volunteer through the portal and it was easy.
Check it out and share with others.
