Our chapter is seeing an increase of employers implementing certification programs with some being a requirement to work for them and some as optional.  Employers are definitely seeing certification as a value and worth the investment to offer their staff.  My hospital is one them that encourages staff to become certified at any level.  Our facility values certification to increase our staff’s expertise and retention.  It’s also an excellent opportunity for career growth and a way to increase their wages.  Certification is a perfect way to offer education and an opportunity to become a member of AAHAM.
