Wage Reimbursement

Wishing you could afford to hire an apprentice, but it’s just not in the budget? Good news, we have received Community Project Grant Funding from the US Department of Labor for Apprenticeship and Workforce Development for Drinking Water & Wastewater Apprentices here in Washington State!

This project helps rural communities with limited financial resources make proactive steps to being an employer supporter of the apprenticeship program, by providing wage reimbursement to utilities for the training your mentors provide to the apprentice. Reimbursements are available quarterly for communities serving less than 10,000 in population. Wage reimbursement of up to 520 hours of gross wages of mentor with a maximum of $13,780.00 annually for those in the first year of the apprenticeship program. Wage reimbursement of up to 125 hours of gross wages of mentor with a maximum of $3,312.50 annually for those in their second year of the apprenticeship program. Estimated availability to 10 communities a year, 30 communities total.
