Published: Jan 27, 2022

With January being National Mentoring Month, Southwest Louisiana CU is excited to share their CEO, Chad Miller's, involvement with Big Brother Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana. . In addition to running their credit union and keeping employees as well as members happy, Chad makes time to ensure special kids like Joshua also feel connected and cared for. Chad was the perfect "Big Brother" for Joshua with their mutual love for sports!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana helps youth realize their full potential and build their futures. For almost 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the Region's largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of SWLA makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis, and Vernon Parishes. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. They have grown to be the largest youth mentoring organization in Southwest Louisiana, offering youth of our community a chance to reach their full potential.
