Employees of La Capitol Federal Credit Union donated toys, clothes, games and other gifts to a family in need as part of its Adopt-a-Family drive.
La Cap adopted a family with three boys, ages newborn to 4 years old, whose parent had been an innocent victim of gun violence. As a result, the parent was unemployed and experienced a financial struggle.
La Cap began collecting items in December and made two drop-offs to the family — once on Christmas Eve to give the children toys for the holiday and again on Feb. 1.
“I am proud of the generosity of our staff,” said Michael Hooper, La Cap President and CEO. “We hope these gifts made everyone’s holidays brighter and put a smile on the children’s faces.”
