La Cap’s Branding Campaign Takes Silver at Baton Rouge Advertising Awards

La Capitol’s marketing campaign took home second place at the Baton Rouge chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s annual awards on February 19. La Cap’s use of character illustrations in its branding campaigns earned Silver.

La Cap worked with local marketing and advertising agency BBR Creative to develop the colorful characters and pivot away from photography-based digital and print ads.

These vibrant, colorful depictions allowed La Cap members to see themselves reflected in a fun new way. The new branding aesthetic also differentiated La Cap from competitors, especially in the digital ad space.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition from the American Advertising Federation. Congratulations to our Marketing Department on this recognition of their hard work of the La Capitol brand,” said Michael Hooper, La Cap President and CEO. “We’ve seen great results from the character illustrations. They are engaging with our members and also reflect the vibrancy of our company culture.”

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries every year in local chapters of the American Advertising Federation competitions. The mission of the competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
