La Capitol Named Top Credit Union in La. for Second Straight Year

Published: Aug 12, 2021

La Capitol once again was named the top credit union in Louisiana by Forbes magazine. The credit union received the state’s top honors in the Forbes’ list of “America’s Best Credit Unions In Each State” for 2021.

The recognition puts La Capitol among the top 3.6% of the nation’s more than 5,000 credit unions. La Capitol also earned the top spot in 2020.

“We are very honored to be recognized as the No. 1 credit union in Louisiana and one of best credit unions in the nation,” La Capitol President and CEO Michael Hooper said. “It takes a team effort, and our staff put in a lot of hard work every day. It is gratifying to see that our members noticed and said as much on the survey.”

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the 2021 rankings. In its fourth year, the annual list is based on independent surveys involving approximately 25,000 U.S. consumers.

Participants were asked to rate the financial institutions at which they have or have had checking accounts, and members made recommendations regarding overall satisfaction. They also assessed credit unions in five areas: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice. Of the 5,068 credit unions nationwide, just 3.6% made the list.
