If you earned your Certified Financial Counselor designation three or more years ago, you are encouraged to complete continuing education to keep your certification. In order to recertify, CUNA has two options available. The first option is to register to attend an eSchool, either live or recorded. The other available option is to self-study by purchasing the latest book. As of this year, CUNA no longer requires that you pass an exam to retain your certification. The only requirement is that you either attend an eSchool or self-study with the book.

LCUL is committed to ensure our Certified Financial Counselors have the opportunity to meet together, share best practices, participate in role playing, and devising new implementation strategies as this is vital to the continued education of a certified counselor. We plan to schedule these in-person sessions, as we did last year, as soon as we are able to meet in person again. Please note however, that LCUL’s in-person programs alone will not meet CUNA’s recertification requirement. Recertification through CUNA can only be received through one of the CUNA programs listed above.
