2015 NOMINATIONS/POSITIONS
Executive Board positions: These are voting positions and are open to anyone who is an active member of the WFAS Division who has approval from their supervisor to serve. These positions are a two year commitment.
Executive Board members attend four board meetings per year and assist with the annual conference and two workshops.
Committee Coordinators: These are non-voting positions and are encouraged, but not required, to attend the board meetings. Many Committee Coordinators move on to run for Executive Board positions. If you are interested in helping out on a Committee please contact the coordinator directly for opportunities.
Am I able to nominate myself or someone else? YES!!! During the Annual Conference the Chair makes a call for nominations each morning, this is the time to put your name in the hat!
Final elections will be held the last day of the conference. Should you be elected, we welcome you to join us for the first meeting immediately following the conference wrap-up.
The following Executive Board positions are up for election:
Vice Chair: It shall be the duty of the Vice Chair to perform the duties of the Chair as necessitated by their absence, and to assist the Chair whenever required. The Vice Chair shall be the Chair of the Nomination/Election Committee.
Secretary/Treasurer: It shall be the duty of the Secretary/Treasurer to keep minutes of the proceedings of the FAS and the Executive Board; to attend to communications pertaining to the FAS as directed by the Chair; to receive all monies due the WFAS and to keep a complete account of the same; to make a full and complete report of all monies received and disbursed at each meeting of the Division and the Executive Board.
Information Technology Representative: It shall be the duty of the Information Technology Representative to keep current on fire service technology issues. They must be able to keep technological issues and support for the Information Technology portion of the membership at the forefront of the Fire Administrative Support board.
(1) Eastern Representative: It shall be the duty of the Eastern to contact Fire Service Administrative Support personnel in their respective areas to correlate information and to coordinate Regional Workshops and Training Seminars to be conducted in their respective areas; and to assemble needed information for the Eastern Annual Workshop (Spring). Those representatives will ensure that following each Regional Workshop or Seminar conducted, a written report will be submitted to the Chair.
(1) Western Representative: It shall be the duty of the Western Representatives to contact Fire Service Administrative Support personnel in their respective areas to correlate information and to coordinate Regional Workshops and Training Seminars to be conducted in their respective areas; and to assemble needed information for the Western Annual Workshop (Fall). Those representatives will ensure that following each Regional Workshop or Seminar conducted, a written report will be submitted to the Chair.
