Brice Andrew DiGiorgio, the man who on Feb. 7 ate Bayshore (FL) Fire Rescue’s food, chatted with the firefighters, and then stole their brush truck, pleaded no-contest to charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and fleeing or attempting to elude police, reports news-press.com.

DiGiorgio, of Lee County, took the apparatus on a several-hour, multi-county joyride and was arrested by Manatee County deputies after he was stopped on U.S. 41.

The 32-year-old received fines and a 9-month jail sentence credited with about six months of time served.

Judson (TX) Fire Department Getting its Own Station

The Judson (TX) Fire Department is getting its own station, reports newsjournal.com, and Gregg County officials recently gathered at the corner of Hudson Lane and Tryon Road as crew members posted a banner to mark the site of the future station.

Gregg County Emergency Services District 3 purchased four acres of land for about $300,000 to build this first permanent station; the current station at 436 Skinner Ln. is leased.

The next step in bringing the station to fruition is to start the engineering process, officials say. They add that the estimated cost for the station will be about $1.5 million.

The Judson Fire Department was founded as a volunteer department in 2004 and was donation-funded until May 2019, when voters approved a new tax to support fire protection in their neighborhoods—creating Gregg County’s third emergency services district.
