Fort Wayne (IN) Selected Location for Fire Station

A location has been selected and construction of a new fire station is expected to be underway in the fall, reports WANE 15.

The location was picked for several reasons, including a bigger lot that will allow trucks to pull in easier. The location is also away from schools, which neighbor the current station.<

Hendersonville (NC) Fire Station Receives SHARP Certification

A Hendersonville fire station received a SHARP certification through OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), reports ABC 13 News.

The program recognizes small business employers who have used OSHA’s On-Site Consultation Program services and operate exemplary safety and health programs.

There are no other SHARP worksites in Henderson, Polk or Transylvania counties, and only one in Buncombe County.

Takoma Park VFD (MD) Awaiting New Fire Apparatus

The Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department expects their new engine will soon be in service, reports The Moco Show.

The new engine is a 2021 Pierce Enforcer, which is 10 years younger than the current 2011 Engine 702. The current engine averages 2,000 calls annually.
