Ephrata Twp. (PA) Firefighters Hurt in Fire Truck Crash Responding to House Fire

Three Ephrata Township (PA) firefighters were injured when they were involved in a fire truck crash as they were responding to a structure fire on Saturday night.

According to television station WGAL8, the fire truck crashed on Division Highway while on the way to a fire in a single-family home.

No injuries were reported involved with the structure fire and the ones involving the fire truck were described as minor.

Motorist Badly Hurt in Crash with Houston (TX) Fire Engine

A motorist was critically injured when it struck a Houston (TX) Fire Department engine while it was blocking a previous crash scene on Saturday morning.

According to television station ABC13, the crash happened on MLK Boulevard and the crash blocked the entire eastbound lanes.

In a video recorded of the scene, firefighters could be scene extricating a person from the car that hit the fire engine, the television station reported. The fire crews were already on the scene of a previous crash when the car hit the truck. No firefighters were hurt in the crash, the station reported.

No Bidders for Lake Wateree (SC) Fire Station Construction

Not a single company bid for a new Lake Wateree fire station, reports The Voice.

Fire officials weren’t sure of the reason but thought it may be due to the design and increased construction material prices.

Given the high price of lumber, it is also unclear if the fire station can be built for the budgeted $375,000, which was approved by town officials.

Haverhill (MA) Welcomes Fire Apparatus

The fire department has welcomed two pumper fire trucks, reports The Eagle-Tribune.

The purchase had some political turmoil as city councilors rejected the mayor’s budget until he agreed to purchase the new vehicles.

The two trucks were built by Pierce and are fully certified according to National Fire Protection Agency standards.

The new trucks will allow older vehicles to be rotated through the department’s four stations. The department now has eight ladder trucks, two pumper trucks and a rescue truck
