Frontline Equipment Technologies LLC announced the release of three new Wildland Firefighting Tools to the U.S. fire service for 2019.

These three new SaberSpear™ Wildland Firefighting Tool options can improve fireground operational efficiency in stubborn wildland fire areas. By using the extendable sub-surface injection action combined with topside extinguishing ability, these tools provide new options for fighting wildland fires nationwide.

The Elkhart Fire Department is on the cutting edge for hazmat teams after receiving a new rig, reports WSBT 22.

 

It replaces a piece of equipment more than 30 years old. The new rig will respond to incidents beyond city limits.

The cost for the rig is just under $600,000. Funding was provided by both the city and Elkhart County commissioners.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry is providing $95,000 of wildfire equipment to rural fire departments, reports wfmj.com

Twenty-four rural departments were provided with equipment. The departments were selected through the Volunteer Fire Assistance Summer 2019 Wildland Fire Personal Protective Equipment and Wildland Fire Tools competitive grant program.
