The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Washington DC Fire Station Amongst Country's Busiest

A recent survey found four fire stations are among the 13 busiest in the country, with D.C.’s Fire Station 30 answering the fourth most calls in the nation, reports WTOP.

According to the 2018 National Run Survey, the station went on 22,319 runs last year. Fire stations in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Nashville and Baltimore ranked higher.

"We’re really proud of the members of the DC Fire and EMS Department who run these amazing number of calls on a daily basis, and provide the kind of service that they do to the citizens," a spokesman for D.C. Fire and EMS, said.

Boulder (CO) Donates Fire Equipment to Puerto Vallarta

A Boulder Fire Department donated fire equipment to Puerto Vallarta, reports PVDN.

The donation consisted of 50 fire suits and nozzles to regulate the water jets.

The intention is to establish a relationship and continue to donate equipment to Puerto Valarta.

Historic St. Paul (MN) Fire Apparatus Damaged in Possible Arson

An investigation is underway after a historic fire truck was damaged by a fire, reports ABC 6 News.

The cab of the truck is now charred from the gear shaft to the American flag in the windshield.

Co-owners MacDonald and Natalka Kramarczuk bought the 1968 Pirsch Fire Truck about two years ago, bringing it back home to where it had once been in service.

South Metro Fire confirms police are looking at this as possible arson.
