Lyndhurst (OH) Breaks Ground on Fire Station

City officials celebrated the groundbreaking for a new fire station, reports Cleveland Jewish News.

The chief’s office contains not one but three desks as well as one bed. A former dorm room has been converted into a kitchen, which firefighters outfitted with cabinetry.

The new two-story station of 12,800 square feet is expected to be completed in May 2020 at a cost of $4,413,976. To stay within the budget, the city is using a construction manager at risk contracting model, which puts the construction manager at risk financially.

Nassau County (NY) Approves Funds For Fire Department

The Nassau County Legislature approved a suite of Community Revitalization Projects. Among them was a grant for firefighting equipment for Lido and Point Lookout, reports Patch.

The county approved $80,000 to purchase self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) units for the Lido and Point Lookout Fire District.

After 50 Years, Temple (TX) Missing Fire Apparatus Hubcap Replaced

Nearly 50 years after going missing, the hubcap from Temple Fire & Rescue’s 1939 Diamond T fire truck has been replaced, reports KWTX 10.

The rear passenger side hubcap disappeared sometime in the 1960s and as the years passed, with the manufacturer no longer in business, a replacement wasn’t readily available.

Temple Fire & Rescue driver Justin Jackson and Battalion Chief Matt Perrine recently found one for sale on Ebay for $250.
