Dearborn Heights (MI) Fire Department Gets Fire Apparatus

 
 
The truck is housed at Dearborn Heights fire headquarters on Beech Daly where firefighters have been familiarizing themselves with it over the past several weeks. The truck is known in firefighting jargon as a “quint” – short for quintuple – for its five main components. The red behemoth carries a water tank, pump, hose, and ground ladders – four features common on traditional DHFD rigs. The quint has those four, plus the tall ladder.

Fairfield County (OH) Fire Departments Receive Grant Money for Fire Equipment

 
 

The departments are planning on using the $549,782.95 to purchase equipment for Multi-Agency Radio Communications Systems (MARCS), which would allow nearly state-wide access and cross-departmental communications, be they law enforcement or fire departments.  

This is the second attempt the fire departments have made, after being denied the grant last year. Each department was eligible for up to $50,000, with seven of the 11 getting the full amount.

State Fire Marshal Jeff Hussey attended the fire chiefs' meeting Tuesday to congratulate the departments on receiving the grant money.

One Shot Outside Milwaukee (WI) Fire Station

 
 

The fire department says the victim was treated for their injuries and was taken to an area hospital by private ambulance.  

No other information has been released at this time.
