Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department are getting a brand new fire truck, reports Black Burn News.

Fire Chief Jay Arns said firefighters will have to undergo training on the new truck which is expected to be delivered early next year.

The $1.28 million, 110-foot Aerial Apparatus bucket ladder truck will replace the current 60-foot truck which is at the end of its 25-year life. Arns said the old truck is showing its age.

 

The City Council voted to purchase a defunct automobile dealership for land for a new fire station, reports Santa Rosa's Press Gazette.

The purchase will be for $2.3 million, which is $300,000 less than the asking price.

 Fire Chief Randy Smith recommends establishing the fire department’s fleet maintenance, logistics and administrative offices inside 24,000-square-foot building.

 

Troy unveiled a brand new fire engine for the first time in 10 years, reports News 10.

 

Two ambulances were purchased last year and another fire truck will be added, all part of $1.7 million investment into emergency services.

Mayor Patrick Madden also announced plans to rebuild the Lansingburgh fire house.

A fire truck responding to an accident went out of control heading down an emankment, reports the Indiana Gazette.

Three firefighters had been strapped into their seats and freed themselves from the truck after it crashed through the guardrail.

Cherryhill Township Fire Chief Jody Rainey said the firefighters were sent to Indiana Regional Medical Center for checkups as a precaution. The driver was given a mandated alcohol and drug screening, he said.
