Four Injured in Davie County (NC) Fire Apparatus Accident

 
 

Trooper A.C. Ward says the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Junction Road in Davie County. 

Two firefighters, a mother, and child were hurt. Trooper Ward says the fire truck and a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro were traveling toward each other.

Santa on Seymour (TN) Fire Apparatus for 45th Year

 
 

Fire truck sirens are a good sign in Seymour on Christmas Eve, because they mean Santa is coming down the street.

Every year, the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department turns its trucks over to Santa and his elves to spread joy and fire safety tips throughout the town.

Two Injured in Germantown (PA) Collision Involving Fire Apparatus

 
 

Two people — both from the passenger car — have been reported injured. It happened just after 7 p.m. on Baynton Street near Greene Street.  

There's no word yet on the cause of the accident. Police ask that drivers avoid the area.

New Fire Apparatus Enhances Meredith (NH) Capability

 
 
Built on a Ford 550 chassis, the new piece of apparatus can provide access for up to five firefighters, along with water or other equipment, to the fire scene.  

Money for the new acquisition came largely from a FEMA grant that covered 95 percent — or $148,572 — of the truck’s cost. The town provided a 5 percent matching grant of $7,428, according to Fire Chief Ken Jones.  

This is the second time in four years that the department has been able to acquire a new piece of firefighting equipment through the FEMA Federal Assistance to Firefighters grants program.
