Finley (OH) Fire Equipment Donates Fire Apparatus

Finley said this process all started when he reached out to Chief Craig Clark about possibly donating a truck to them because Reinersville’s fire department budget is very tight. It was then Finley learned that their first-out engine was broken down.

Mr. Finley said he and Bailey Buchanan delivered the pumper truck to the Reinersville Volunteer Fire Department at around 10 a.m. in the morning, on Sunday, Oct. 7. The truck is lettered with “Reinersville” on the cab’s front and on the doors.

Finley mentioned that Finley Fire Equipment had recently purchased a vinyl printer and cutter for all of the company’s lettering needs. The Reinersville truck was the first project for the new printer and cutter.

North Carolina Firefighters Flooded Fire Station, Homes

A volunteer fire department in Duplin County near Wallace was flooded with a full five feet of waters, courtesy of Florence.

North East Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kenneth Cavenaugh said one firetruck was destroyed. All the department’s other trucks and as much equipment as they could grab was moved and saved.

The NEVFD will need to endure a year before the building is back to its former glory, and the walls have already been torn out, according to WITN.

Kettering (OH) Finishing Fourth New Fire Station in $30 Million Project

The city went from seven fire stations to four, with the completion of the West Dorothy Lane station project. A ribbon cutting will take place in December for the new Fire Station 37, according to city officials.

With an average age of 42 years, Kettering’s previous fire stations lacked the physical space or available land to allow for the improvements necessary to upgrade to current standards. Existing stations were undersized for modern apparatus, devoid of mixed-gender facilities for 24/7 operations and did not meet ADA standards.

Each of the new stations will be staffed 24 hours a day with members who are trained to respond to the more than 9,000 calls for emergency service the Kettering Fire Department receives each year.
