Fire-Dex Announced as NorthCoast99 Winner

Fire-Dex is proud to be recognized by ERC as one of Northeast Ohio’s 99 best places to work! This is the third time that Fire-Dex has received the award.

HME Delivers Custom Rescue-Pumper to Vermont Fire Department

The Poultney (VT) Fire Department has taken delivery of an all new custom Ahrens-Fox rescue-pumper. This truck features the MFDxl-12 cab with raised roof for plenty of room as well as a large windshield for increased visibility built on an 1871-W chassis. The vehicle is powered by a Cummins 450-hp ISL9 engine and an Allison 3000EVS automatic transmission. It is equipped with a Hale Qmax 1,500-gpm pump and a 1,450 tank. Also featured is a TFT Hurricane RC mounted on a telescoping waterway, a Hale MIV-E valve suction inlet, and a Harrison 8-kW generator.

Collision Takes South Hutchinson (KS) Fire Apparatus Out of Service

According to South Hutchinson Police Chief Mark Thompson, Engine 80 was responding to a fire alarm at 600 W. Blanchard with lights and siren about 8:50 a.m.  

The truck stopped at the stoplight at Blanchard and Main before proceeding across the intersection against the light.

A Hutchinson motorist, Juan Flores, 33, who was northbound on Main Street, told officers he saw the truck and attempted to stop, but his Chevy Tahoe slid into the driver’s side door of the firetruck because of the wet pavement.
