Kussmaul Leadership Change

Effective on May 29, 2018, Dale Tompkins assumed the the role of president at Kussmaul Electronics. After a very successful time as president of Kussmaul, it’s Thomas Nugent’s desire to focus on engineering, new products, and business development. Since Nugent was instrumental in growing Kussmaul, he actively participated in the search process and will be supporting the ramp up of Tompkins.

Tompkins comes to Kussmaul with a track record of success. He is experienced in the emergency, warning, and vocational vehicle space, having served as president and CEO of Code 3, a provider of lighting and warning products for emergency responders, utility service fleets, and industrial settings. Prior to Code 3, Dale was part of marine leader Brunswick Corporation, where he served in senior corporate and business leadership roles. Tompkins is a native of Wisconsin and has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

In his role, Tompkins will be responsible for driving the profitable growth of Kussmaul Electronics including its expansion into new vertical markets such as the vocational truck market. To that end, his dual title includes Market Segment President for Specialty Vehicle Power. Tompkins will have direct responsibility for all functions within Kussmaul’s West Sayville, New York, facility.
