Tafd Could Soon Be Purchasing Three New Fire Trucks

The Texarkana, Arkansas Fire Department could soon be bringing three new fire trucks into their fleet. Council members plan to vote on whether to approve the $1.5 million purchase at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 16th. Fire officials say the trucks would replace older equipment that the city will then sell as surplus.

A Charleston fire station that's been out of commission for more than two years has nearly been reconstructed. Charleston Fire Department's Station 3, located at 822 Oakwood Road off Corridor G, should be open and running by July, City Manager Dave Molgaard said.
