New Fire Apparatus for Narragansett (RI) Fire Department Provides Boost

Thanks to the efforts of Narragansett firefighters, members of the state's congressional delegation and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Narragansett has a new fire truck. The 2016 custom-built Rosenbauer ladder truck, revealed at a commemorative ceremony Friday, features a 109-foot aerial ladder and a pre-piped waterway.

It is also equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and safety features. The truck cost $816,000, with 75 percent paid for by federal money.

"Our old ladder truck didn't have a ladder that extended all the way up the side of the aerial piece," Narragansett Fire Chief Scott Partington said. "It accommodates the waterway, and it's pre-piped all the way up without having to stretch a fire hose all the way up."

Maury County (TN) Fire Station to be Completed in April

After breaking ground in October, Maury County Fire Station 10 is expected to be ready for firefighters before the start of the summer. The heavy concrete base has been laid, the building's outer shell is now up and workers are beginning to work on the interior.
Located at the intersection of Old Highway 99 and Lasea Road, just west of where Bear Creek Pike meets Interstate-65, the new volunteer fire station will provide a quick response time to regions of the county that previously cost responders precious time to get to during emergency situations.
