Thomasville (AL) Fire’s New Pumper/Ladder Truck Arrives Next Week

Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department’s new fire truck is scheduled for delivery next week, a city official told council members at the work session and council meeting Monday. The truck has been on order for two years, TheThomasvilleTimes.com reported.

The new truck is a pumper/ladder truck with a smaller ladder, the report said.

At the meeting it was restated that the city was considering selling the old downtown fire station to Thomasville Baptist Church. A city official said negotiations will proceed, the report said.

Three fire trucks are housed at the downtown station, all over 30 years old, according to the report. The plan is to sell two of the trucks and to keep one as a reserve.

That will leave the volunteer fire department with seven trucks, the report said.
