Voters Approve Three Proposals for Funding Garfield Township (MI) Fire and Rescue

Voters in Garfield (MI) gave a resounding ‘yes’ to three proposals that were geared towards funding the local fire department, MLive.com reported.

Garfield Township Fire and Rescue had multiple proposals on the ballot on Tuesday, November 8.

The three proposals asked voters to consider whether or not to approve millages that would fund a new fire truck, the department’s operating costs, and equipment.

Tri-Township Fire (IL) ‘Pushes’ Ladder Truck into Service

Tri-Township Fire Protection District in Quincy (IL) put its first ladder truck into service Tuesday with a ceremony destined to become a tradition for the department, Whig.com reported.

Current and retired Tri-Township firefighters “pushed” the truck — a 2008 Spartan Gladiator with a Smeal 75-foot ladder acquired from the O’Fallon, Ill., fire department — into the station and into service.

Lisbon (ME) Voters Support $1.7M Bond for Two Fire Trucks

Lisbon residents voted in support of a $1.7 million bond to purchase two new fire trucks for the Lisbon Fire Department, 2,709-1,309, SunJournal.com reported.

The two trucks are estimated to be completed in 2024 and will replace three aging trucks: a 2004 rescue truck, a 2003 pumper truck and a 2000 Freightline pumper/tanker.
