The city of Boise is about to move forward with the construction of Fire Station 13, which will serve the northwest portion of the city, BoiseDev.com reported.
Last year, the city signaled it would move forward with the project at the corner of State Street and Bogart Lane, after years of requests and frustrations from residents in the area. Boise annexed the area in 2014, the report said.
In addition to space for Boise Fire, the building will include “touch down” workstations for Boise Police Department officers, as well as possible future use by Ada County Paramedics, according to the report.
It will include space for six fire employees, four BPD officers, a bay for a fire engine and a brush truck, which would aid in fire calls in the foothills, the report said.
Construction on the fire station could start by the end of this year, according to the report.
