Whelen Introduces Pioneer™ LiFe Series

Whelen Pioneer LiFe Series

Introducing the Pioneer LiFe Series, a family of revolutionary battery powered portable area lights designed to bring Whelen’s advanced Pioneer technology where other lights can’t go.

The Pioneer LiFe LF35 is the first of its kind, combining an all new Pioneer SlimLine™ optic with the portability and flexibility of a grab and go light. At just 7.5 pounds, the LF35 is lighter than any other portable area light on the market today. It’s Intelligent Inductive Charger with no exposed contacts provides easy, wireless charging, and the built-in battery is lightweight and thermally protected. The Pioneer LiFE LF35 is designed, manufactured, and assembled in the United States.

Optics

Whelen’s renowned Pioneer™ optics are trusted throughout the emergency warning industry. The Pioneer LiFe LF35’s all new SlimLine™ optic is optimized for portable applications in order to control and focus light to work areas. Hard-coated lenses and solid-state electronics provide the durability Whelen is known for.

The LiFe LF35 is supplied with two optic lenses, a floodlight lens comes standard and an 8° TIR spotlight lens is included. Hard-coated lenses minimize environmental damages and 100% solid-state electronics are reliable and efficient.

The LF35 provides 3,500 usable lumens.

Design

The LiFe LF35 is engineered for the toughest jobs. The entire light is simple and easy to use with gloved hands. The impact-resistant nylon housing provides unmatched durability and the balanced design is easy to grab and go during any emergency.

Impact resistant glass reinforced nylon housing is available in Safety Yellow. The robust adjustable ratcheting mechanism allows for a 180° range of uninterrupted light. Push-button power switch and top handle are easy to use with gloved hands and the well balanced top handle is designed to be over the center of mass. Easily attach a sling or carabiner to the light to make transportation easy.

LF35 is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance. With no RFI/EMI radiation, the portable area light will not interfere with portable communication devices.

Whelen Pioneer LiFe

Battery

The Pioneer™ LiFe LF35’s lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery will ensure you will never be left in the dark. The battery features up to 3.5 hours of runtime at full intensity and up to 7 hours of runtime in Battery Saver Mode.

During full intensity usage, the battery provides consistent usable lumen output, delivering the brightest illumination possible. For longer jobs, Battery Saver Mode will preserve output by running at a lower intensity.

When the battery runs low, the LiFe LF35 will flicker to indicate its need for charge. When 15 minutes of battery life remain, the light will dim to a reduced intensity to preserve output time. The battery is lightweight and features short circuit and thermal protection. It is built into the unit, making it safe and protected.

When fully charged, the battery will disconnect, preserving the lifecycle of the battery. The battery will fully charge in 4-5 hours, maintaining optimal lifespan, and is rated for more than 2000 charging cycles.

Intelligent Inductive Charger

The LiFe LF35’s Intelligent Inductive Charger (IIC) is wireless and eliminates the need for plugs and wires by utilizing inductive charging technology. Simply place the LF35 into the charging base and it will begin to charge. Without the need for cables, the charger is always at the ready.

IIC is specifically designed to work with Pioneer LiFe LF35 lights only. If foreign objects are placed on the charger, it wi

Dräger Launches X-Zone 3D with Worldwide Real-Time Data Transfer

Drager X-Zone 5500

Continuing its commitment to mobile area monitoring, Dräger's X-zone 5500 with advanced 3D communication adds a new layer of safety to its existing state-of-the-art area monitoring system through the ability to transfer key data to workstations situated across the globe. Along with these developments, users can rely on the existing features of the X-zone 5500, such as functionality and durability in the harshest of operational environments.

In today’s fire and rescue services environment, data-logging and transfer capabilities make the insights gleaned from regular review invaluable in missions involving the handling of hazardous materials and emergency rescue. Through Dräger’s 3D communication capabilities, users will gain information such as gas levels, battery levels and alarm information to assist in a variety of worksite operations.

The X-zone 5500 with advanced 3D communication allows fire departments to improve real-time data sharing via radio signal to a PC-based workstation from up to three miles away; or even farther when leveraging strategically located radio signal repeaters. Data is transmitted at a frequency between 902 and 928 MHz, ensuring reliable cross-site coverage, while reducing the number of transmitting radios needed.

“Users of the X-zone 5500 have the opportunity to strengthen and enhance their data collection, monitoring and sharing suite with the new 3D wireless transmitter. The accessibility and use of data allows individuals to pinpoint the information most relevant to them,” said Larry Medina, Product Portfolio Marketing Manager at Draeger Safety. “With the amount of data trickling out to different streams at the same time, users can leverage the information they need to improve worksite safety and diminish risk.”

The portable gas technology of the X-zone 5500 allows continuous monitoring and rapid detection of up to six hazardous gases in conjunction with the X-am 5000 portable gas detection series. The powerful combination of these mobile wireless systems extends the range of portable gas detection technology on site, supporting the option for the user to interconnect up to hundreds of X-zone 5500 devices to form a wireless fence of reliable detection.
