MSA ALTAIR 5X multigas detector, for simultaneous detection of up to six gases, offers a new PID (photoionization) sensor option. Built on durability and featuring MSA’s XCell® Sensors for toxic, combustible, and oxygen detection, the ALTAIR 5X Detector’s PID capability expands the utility of the ALTAIR 5X Detector for growing applications in which volatile organic compounds (VOC) detection is necessary.

The unit is fully compatible with MSA’s GALAXY® GX2 Automated Test Systems and MSA Link™ Pro Software and is Bluetooth-enabled. www.msanet.com, 877-672-3473

Ritron, Inc. PT-150M license-free portable two-way radio operates in the VHF MURS frequency band and allows users to operate license-free at two watts anywhere within the United States. There are five MURS frequencies including two made popular by Ritron’s JOBCOM brand radio line that now are in widespread use across the country: the “blue dot” (154.570) and “green dot” (154.600) frequencies.

The PT-150M features eight-channel capacity, which allows maximum use of all five MURS frequencies plus reuse of three frequencies for additional work groups. A two-watt transmitter is adequate for up to two miles, line-of-sight, no obstructions or 250,000 square feet indoors. A 1,000-mW speaker provides easy-to-hear clarity and volume for noisy environments. Each PT radio comes complete with antenna, lithium-ion battery, spring-action belt clip, drop-in charging stand, and AC adapter. www.ritron.com, 800-872-1872

Ziamatic Corp. (Zico) Hard Sleeve Gantry system is a safe, easy, and efficient way to store a 10-foot hard sleeve on an apparatus’s high side shelf. When the hard sleeve is needed, simply unlatch the handle, slide the tray off the rear of the apparatus, and tilt it down to a more reasonable retrieval height-no dangerous climbing involved.

The Hard Sleeve Gantry can be operated by a single firefighter. The rugged, powder-coated aluminum system accommodates one 10-foot hard sleeve on either the driver (Model HSG-1-D-10) or officer (Model HSG-1-O-10) side. Ziamatic QUIC-STRAPs and a new, patented Hose Catch keep the hard sleeve in place during transport. www.ziamatic.com, 800-711-FIRE

The first argus® Mi-TIC S thermal imaging cameras are now being shipped to customers. The Mi-TIC S is a safe, light, and easy-to-use thermal imaging camera. It features a large-format, high-resolution display. The camera provides a crystal clear image. Users can clearly view extremely high temperatures up to 2,000°F and at the same time see very low-temperature objects, which is suitable for searches.

With a thumb-operated green on/off button and a startup time of five seconds, the Mi-TIC S is simple to use. Every Mi-TIC S is supplied with a unique, dual-use desktop/in-truck charger station that securely retains and charges both the thermal imager and a spare battery. The charger stations can be daisychained together for up to a maximum of six units. Read more
