Davenport (IL) Fire Apparatus in Accident with Pick-Up

One person was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a fire truck and a pick-up truck collided.

According to Davenport Police, the accident occurred about 10 a.m. Monday at the intersection of West 3rd and Fillmore streets. Davenport Fire Truck Engine 2 was travelling east on 3rd Street and struck a Ford F150 travelling south on Fillmore Street, police said.

Engine 2 was being operated in emergency mode with lights and sirens and had been dispatched to an EMS call prior to the crash.

Police said the sole occupant of the Ford 150 was transported from the scene to Genesis East Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. One firefighter on Engine 2 had minor injuries and was taken to Genesis East for evaluation and treatment.

Effingham (NH) Fire Chief Injured in Fire Apparatus Crash

The Effingham fire chief was injured when his fire truck rolled over in Effingham.

Officials said the chief was driving the truck when he went around a corner, hit the soft shoulder on the road, went into a utility pole and rolled the truck onto its roof. The pole was knocked down in the crash.

The chief managed to crawl out of the truck. He was alone in the truck at the time. He was taken to the hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.

Paul Conway Fire Announces Addition Of Sales Director Lee Kasten, Welcomes Kevin Moeller

With the company’s decision to add dedicated representatives to support their growth and expansion into new states, Paul Conway Fire has promoted Lee Kasten to Sales Director. Lee previously served as Sales Representative for the Northeast Wisconsin territory and has been with the company for nine years.

“As we continue to build our sales team to better serve departments’ needs, Lee will play an integral role in ensuring that all customers receive the highest level of service from our reps that they deserve,” Tom Martin, VP of Operations announced.

As a second-generation firefighter, Lee has a true understanding of the industry. His father (now retired) served as Battalion Chief for the Appleton (WI) Fire Department and his brother is currently a driver there. While working as a lieutenant and enjoying 14 years of serving at the same department as his family, he looks forward to the new opportunities that the role of Sales Director will bring. He is excited about having the ability to help make a difference in providing only the best in products and services to his fellow brothers and sisters.

Paul Conway Fire is also pleased to ring in the New Year by welcoming a new member to their family, Kevin Moeller. Kevin will be the new Sales Representative for Northeast Wisconsin.

Kevin has over 20 years of experience in fire service. During his tenure in Seymour, Wisconsin, Kevin was an EMT-Basic with Seymour Rescue, continuing on as an EMT-Paramedic. Later, he became Paramedic for Gold Cross Ambulance of the Fox Valley, where he recently celebrated 15 years of service.

Kevin is also a volunteer firefighter and First Responder with the Town of Freedom Fire Department and Freedom EMS. In addition, he is a State Certified Fire Instructor with the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and specializes in the areas of hazmat, RIT, and technical rescue. Kevin has also been an instructor at the Tomahawk (WI) Fire School and has taught with renowned instructors such as Ray McCormack of the FDNY.

Paul J. Conway (President) noted, “We are excited to have Kevin on our team. We are confident that his vast knowledge in the fire service industry, as well as his commitment to education and training, will provide an extraordinary customer service experience.”
