Plymouth (MA) approved capital projects that included $2.4 million for the fire department at its October 15 Fall Town Meeting, WickedLocal.com reported.

Those projects included $1.5 million for a new ladder truck and $907,588 for a new pump engine, the report said.

Their purchases were pushed up in response to rising costs, according to the report. 

St. Paul’s Fire District welcomed a new addition to the family Monday, ABCNews4.com reported.

The station received a custom cab pumper truck, which cost more than $500,000, the report said. It is the first vehicle of its kind that the department has ever had.

As part of the truck’s welcome, staff at the station held a prayer for the truck, according to the report.

City commissioners approved the purchase of a $727,000 pumper truck for the fire department at their meeting Monday, RiverCountry.NewsChannelNebraska.com reported.

The city has set aside $150,000 in ARPA funds and will use $220,000 in the equipment reserve fund, leaving $357,000 left to be financed, the report said.

The new pumper will replace a 1979 pumper, which has not passed certification and is beyond its 20-year life expectancy.

The Gloucester Fire Department has been awarded a $291,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Ipswich Local News reported. 

The money will be used to fund the installation of proper sprinkler systems and working alarm systems for the department’s three substations, the report said.

The sprinkler systems will be installed at West Gloucester Fire Station, the Bay View Fire Station, and the Magnolia Fire Station, according to a fire official.
