Wheeled Coach and Road Rescue Invest in New Paint System at Orlando (FL) Manufacturing Facility

Wheeled Coach® and Road Rescue®, both brands of REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc., a subsidiary of REV Group, Inc., and premier manufacturers of emergency vehicles for municipal and commercial EMS providers, have invested in a new paint system. The plural component system precisely controls the mixing and application of the paint products for even higher quality and consistency.

The new paint system was developed by industry leader, Graco®, and utilizes its ProMix PD2K® system, which offers 100% Positive Displacement Technology for accurate mix ratios and consistent performance.  It was installed at the manufacturing facility in Winter Park, Florida, the home of Wheeled Coach and Road Rescue ambulances. The system monitors the ratio of protective coatings and paint. It also controls the application via air pressure and fluid rate regulation of the materials onto the ambulances. In addition to a more supreme final product, the benefits also include waste and hazardous materials reduction because of the precision of the system.

“The investment in the new paint system is part of a broader, ongoing program to further enhance our Orlando facilities, equipment, processes, and customer experiences”, said Erik Stoor, Vice President and General Manager, of REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. “We are stewards of the iconic Wheeled Coach and Road Rescue brands and focused on the long-term success of our customers and dealers.”

Bella Vista (AR) Fire Station 3 Now Has Ambulance Service

FA reported that Bella Vista fire station 3 opened on January 31. Well, now it has ambulance service, too.

The former Station 3 wasn’t large enough to house an ambulance crew at 2,500 square feet, reports nwaonline.com. But the new facility’s square footage is exactly three times that.

Housing an ambulance at Station 3—located at the intersection of Glasgow and Edinburgh roads, across from its predecessor—means it will arrive minutes earlier, according to the report.

New Station 3 has individual sleeping quarters, as opposed to communal ones, six bedrooms, a larger kitchen, an office, and a workout room. The new digs also has three drive-through bays, up from two at the former facility.

$3.4M West Lincoln (Ontario) Fire Station 2 Moves to Construction Phase

Shovels went into the ground at the 8635 Silver Street site Friday afternoon, to officially mark the start of construction of the new Fire Station 2 in the Township of West Lincoln.

This project is being completed by Niacon Construction. The new Fire Station 2 is expected to be finished and operational by June 2023.

Building a new Fire Station 2 was included as a short-term initiative under Theme 5 in the Corporate Strategic Plan 2019-2029. As part of the 2020 budget approval, $1.9 million was allocated toward this project.

The COVID-19 pandemic created a number of challenges in the construction industry, which resulted in construction estimates that far exceeded what the Township allotted for this project. The proposed budget for this project was later amended to accommodate increased costs.

In a unanimous vote at its regular meeting on May 24, 2022, Council supported the recommendation to move forward with construction and allot $3,456,590 (excluding HST) toward the new Station 2.

Quotes:

“This was a major priority that we made sure to include when we completed our Strategic Plan in 2019. To be able to see shovels in the ground in this term is such a joy. This is a great day for our community as a whole. On behalf of Council, I would like to congratulate Fire Chief Dennis Fisher and his team for achieving this tremendous milestone.”

Dave Bylsma

Mayor

“West Lincoln is fortunate to have a dedicated crew of volunteer firefighters who love and uplift our community. This new station is a vital asset that will support our Fire and Emergency Services as we continue to safeguard our growing community for decades to come.”

Dennis Fisher

Fire Chief/CEMC

“I am so proud of Staff for all the hard work they have put into getting this project off the ground well within our original timeline, even with the added challenges brought on by a global pandemic. This is a monumental step towards accomplishing the goal of Corporate Strategic Plan Theme Number 5: that West Lincoln continues to be a safe community where all residents are supported to thrive throughout their lives. Well done, everyone involved.”
