Washington State Fire District receives Life Safety Achievement Award

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is pleased to congratulate the Marysville Fire District for their demonstrated commitment and effective promotion of fire prevention programs in their community, having earned them the distinguished Life Safety Achievement Award for 2012. “The number of fire fatalities in our state are lower each year thanks to fire agencies such as Marysville, making their communities safer” said State Fire Marshal Charles Duffy.

Since 1994, the National Association of State Fire Marshals Foundation along with Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company have recognized fire departments for their fire prevention efforts by awarding the Life Safety Achievement Award to those fire departments in our nation that experienced zero fire deaths in their jurisdiction during the previous calendar year.

Encourage your local fire department to apply for the Life Safety Achievement Award for its fire prevention efforts in 2013.  A list of criteria and an application for the 2013 award will be available on www.grinnellmutual.com in the spring of 2014.
