Home Depot paying $1.3M for fire code violations in 2022 arson that destroyed California store

PHOTO: Home Depot is paying $1.3 million in fines after an investigation revealed fire code violations following an arson that burned a South San Jose store to the ground, prosecutors said. Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen's office announced the fine against the hardware giant Monday, which followed an investigation by the DA's office and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives into the 2022 fire that destroyed the store on Blossom Hill Road.

Double-parked cars increasingly impede DC Fire and EMS responses, officials say

VIDEO: D.C. fire officials say drivers are double-parking near firehouses, leading to delays that could have life-or-death consequences. Firefighters at 414 8th St. SE more frequently see ride-share and delivery drivers parked in the marked area, often leaving vehicles unattended. Saturday, when firefighters there were rushing to a call for a crash on Interstate 295, they were blocked by a double-parked car.

Fire department in Ohio urging awareness after firefighter dies from suicide

Deadly fire engulfs Machias home, kills sole resident

VIDEO: A person is dead after a fire burned their home down with them inside. Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) was dispatched to a fully engulfed house fire in the 600 Block of Carlson Rd in Machias at 12:20 a.m. First responding crews could see a large amount of fire on the front of the house, and the front door already burnt down when they arrived.

Onalaska Volunteer Firefighters Association to raise money for new gas detectors at annual car show in August

Following the success of the second annual Onalaska Volunteer Firefighters Association car show last year, members are preparing for the third annual car show, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, with gates opening at 7 a.m. at the Lewis County Fire District 1’s fire house. The fire house is located at 1733 state Route 508 in Onalaska.
