Rockingham (NC) Fire Department Takes Delivery of 2022 E-ONE Pumper-Tanker

The Rockingham (NC) Fire Department recently took delivery of Engine 3, a $475,750 E-ONE truck, reports richmondobserver.com.

City officials say the truck was purchased via funds from the American Rescue Plan.

The engine was built as a demo model and was about 40% complete when the department got the ball rolling on the purchase this past summer, the report says.

The apparatus will replace old Engine 3, a 1989 Mack, and serve as a pumper-tanker. The predecessor will be retired from the 12-vehicle fleet. Officials expect it to be ready for service by early December, following some finishing touches.

Hawleyville (CT) Volunteer Fire Company Puts into Service Tanker 339

Hawleyville (CT) Volunteer Fire Company officials this weekend put into service the department’s new Tanker 339.

Tanker 339—with a 3,000-gallon tank and a 1,000-gpm Hale pump—was designed with a six-person cab, far larger than the two-person apparatus that have recently made their way to neighboring companies, a report says.

Its predecessor is a 1989 Pierce four-person open cab and served as a trade-in for Tanker 339.

The acquisition of this apparatus completes a program of tanker replacements that began about six years ago, the report says.

Play it Again: Lights, Camera, Bronson (MI) Fire Department!

After starring in a national recruitment video for volunteer fire departments, the Bronson (MI) Fire Department was at it again this past weekend promoting the first Ford Bronco pickup truck for fire work, reports thedailyreporter.com.

The department was in Las Vegas (NV) for the SEMA Show, the report says, an automotive trade show. It was there that BDS Suspension debuted the Fire Command Bronco—a two-door Bronco-turned-fire/rescue-truck equipped with suspension upgrades with oversized wheels and tires, dual winches, emergency lighting, first aid, and tools.

The Coldwater team at BDS took a brand-new Black Diamond edition Bronco, disassembled it, shortened the roof, and re-engineered the roll cage structure, the report says. The design was developed with Ford and the Fox BDS staff for the show.

The video was shown to 30,000 attendees throughout the week.

Pasco (WA) Fire Department Restoring 1936 Seagrave Fire Truck

The Pasco (WA) Fire Department is working hard to restore a 1936 Seagrave truck, which was recently moved to a new storage location, at which the final touches will be applied to get it up and running, reports keprtv.com.

Fire officials believe the truck was a 1,000-gallon-per-minute pumper, which they say was ahead of its time. They add that the apparatus spent about 40 years in service before it was retired.

“Thank you to KEPR Action News for sharing the story of our Seagrave Fire Apparatus,” the department wrote on Facebook. “It is a partnership between City of Pasco Government, City of Pasco Fire Department, and Pasco Union Firefighters Local 1433. We look forward to sharing the project. Hopefully, soon it will be permanently housed in the new Fire Station 84.”

The department says the truck will be on display at its Station 84 once the restoration work—which is estimated to total around $60,000, according to the report—is complete.

The department has yet to set up an online donation page, but those can be sent to IAFF 1433:
