Put-in-Bay (OH) Fire Department Donates Spartan Fire Truck to Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) Department

The Put-in-Bay (OH) Fire Department decided to spread some holiday cheer and is donating a decommissioned apparatus to a department in Cabo San Lucas (Mexico).

Following futile attempts to sell the Spartan truck and a realization that repurposing it wouldn’t make financial sense, the department chose to donate it.

Cabo San Lucas fire officials flew in and drove the truck to San Diego (CA), where it was put on a flatbed and transported the rest of the way.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our community and department for making this happen for a department in need. Looks like I need to make a trip to Cabo!” the department writes on Facebook.

Maryville (TN) Fire Officials to Request $650k for New Truck

Maryville (TN) fire officials are expected to make a request to city council for approximately $650,000 for a new fire truck, reports thedailytimes.com.

The city currently has three trucks on active duty, with a 1995 model with 538,000 miles on it kept in reserve, according to the report.

The request was supposed to be issued last year, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it. Officials say that even if the department were to order the truck immediately, it would still take 12 months for delivery.

Warehouse Point (CT) Fire Department Takes Delivery of $1.1M Pierce Quint

The Warehouse Point (CT) Fire Department recently took delivery of Truck 238, a state-of-the-art $1.1 million Pierce Ascendant quint, at its Anthony DiMastrantonio Station on Bridge Street.

Officials say that even though the apparatus—which features a 107-foot aerial unit—is not yet in service, the department has begun training with it.

The quint replaces a 1990 Pierce apparatus and is the product of a $2 million bonding package that voters approved last year. The package also included an $800,000 addition to the 89 Bridge St. station, which was completed in July.
